“Jesus Christ knew he was God. So wake up and find out eventually who you really are. In our culture, of course, they’ll say you’re crazy and you’re blasphemous, and they’ll either put you in jail or in a nut house (which is pretty much the same thing). However if you wake up in India and tell your friends and relations, ‘My goodness, I’ve just discovered that I’m God,’ they’ll laugh and say, ‘Oh, congratulations, at last you found out.”
― Alan Wilson Watts, The Essential Alan Watts
“What is an event? Are there beginnings? When were you born? When did you begin? When you got out of your mother’s scream? When you were conceived? When you first started to scream? There is no beginning, there is only continuity. Nature is a constantly fluctuating pattern. […]
Two seemingly causal related events are actually one event. So called future events are not merely passive to past events, they are inter-related. The whole process is one. Our way of thought is based on dualism. In Buddhism liberation is removal from dualism. When we first move in this world, who starts it? The world, or us? You are simply looking of two poles of the same process.
Therefore in Buddhism: if I run into a catastrophe, it is my karma. What happens to me is what I do. We want what happens to us, even though we think we don’t want it.”

“Who knows for certain?
Who shall here declare it?
Whence was it born, whence came creation?
The gods are later than
this world’s formation;
Who then can know the origins of the world?
None knows whence creation arose;
And whether he has or has not made it;
He who surveys it from the lofty skies.
Only he knows-
or perhaps he knows not.”

“The Hindu religion is the only one of the world’s great faiths dedicated to the idea that the Cosmos itself undergoes an immense, indeed an infinite, number of deaths and rebirths.
It is the only religion in which the time scales correspond to those of modern scientific cosmology. Its cycles run from our ordinary day and night to a day and night of Brahma, 8.64 billion years long. Longer than the age of the Earth or the Sun and about half the time since the Big Bang.”
― Carl Sagan, Cosmos
“O Marvel! A garden amidst the flames.
My heart has become capable of every form:
it is a pasture for gazelles and a convent for Christian monks,
and a temple for idols and the pilgrim’s Kaa’ba,
and the tables of the Torah and the book of the Quran.
I follow the religion of Love: whatever way Love’s camels take,
that is my religion and my faith.”
– ibn al-Arabi
